About our charity

‘Jokes and Spokes’ is the comedy fundraiser event for The Bike Project. Proceeds from your ticket will go towards our work. Learn more about our charity.

People seeking asylum are forced to live off less than £6 a day whilst waiting for their asylum application. Even if you are lucky enough to receive refugee status, many people still face poverty, homelessness, and unemployment.

We collect, refurbish and donate bikes. A bike helps people to access essential services, including food banks, legal advice, healthcare, and education. More than that, it links people to their local community, tackling social isolation and loneliness.

We also run community programmes like Pedal Power, free cycling training for refugee women, as well as befriending projects and skills workshops for young refugees.

Covid and refund policy

We kindly request you not to attend if you are experiencing symptoms of covid on the day of the event. All attendees must agree to be considerate to those around them and respectful of safety measures at the venue.

Refunds will be given if you are unable to attend due to testing positive for covid (proof will be required).
